dlnewell
Here are a couple of pics of my first customer quilt of the year. I had to disassemble the top, square up the blocks, and reassemble, lining up the sashing and corner stones. Those side borders were 18 inches wide and took some thought to come up with a quilting design because the customer did want fancy feathers. I'm pleased with how it turned out. Hopefully my customer will be too.

dlnewell
Oh wow! That is gorgeous. Did the width of the border make it tricky to quilt that area? My customer did want fancy type feathers, and i had thought about just doing a feather meander but wasn't sure it would work. After a few hours of thinking about it, the swag type of motif and then surrounding feather is what I came up with. I thought the1/2 in lines would work to fill in the remaining space. I'm not a fan of big borders, but sometimes they are required to make the quilt big enough.
