anniemueller
Hi everyone! This is my original design, it's for a challenge. I'd love to hear your quilting ideas for it. I don't have any restrictions or preconceived ideas yet. It's a wallhanging, 30" x 30". Thanks for looking!
connieb
Wow! That is really neat. I see a lot of straight line quilting to follow the geometry of it and then no clue about the black. I know you'll get many better ideas
Liam
That is really a neat looking quilt! I agree with Connie reguarding the straight lines, perhap sid the colored blocks and in the black I see overlapping squares.
Heritage Keepsakes
Oh wow Annie!! I love your design. I can't think of quilting designs to suggest, but I'm sure others will give you many great ideas that will work well.
Bekah
Annie that is a really cool quilt! I too see lots of lines and maybe just echo the shapes in the black. I certainly am no expert though.
apylinski
Amazing design. But since I'm a newbie I don't have a clue. Straight lines sound good to me. Would love to see finished pics when quilted.
GrandmaLKB
Very intricut design. I like it, but have no ideas for quilting it. Can't wait to see what you do with it though.

witha'K'quilting
Annie...what a gorgeous top! love your design, fabric choices and color! my quilting thought: i am going to steer you away from quilting straight/diagonal lines. here's why. they will only accentuate the lines in the piecing that are NOT straight. i am thinking small ribbon candy, pebbles, small scale curly/curvy designs. save the straight lines for the background...or better yet...use a geometric design in the background. keep the scale small though since this wall hanging is only 30 inches square. there are some awesome designs out there that can easily be reproduced freehand. check out patricia ritter's site http://www.urbanelementz.com and check out 'what's new'. I am thinking something like 'Bauhaus' or 'Take Five' for background ideas! can't wait to see what you do with this! it is a great piece.
kloar
Love, love, love your top! Sorry I don't have any quilting ideas for you but I also can't wait to see what you do with it.
Quilting Heidi
Really cool looking. Like Connie I'd do lots of straight lines going in different directions to create movement. The background like Kristina said would be a great place for a really cool geometric design or even radiating lines would look great. I can't wait to see it done. I'm sure it will be stunning. HeidiP
Love your top! You did a fantastic job piecing it! I'm not an expert, but I see modern quilting on your top. Thanks for sharing your top. Have you considered marketing the pattern?
chrisquilter
Awesome top! That surely took a lot of planning!
Busy Quilting
Use straight corrugated lines on the outsides of the boxes, not all top to bottom also left to right. Then choose a different coloured fill for each colour and do all the insides of the boxes that are the same colour with the same fill. I'd be inclined to put a circular fill on the blackto give it some texture.
Neher-in-law5
Love the design. The overall look makes me think of city buildings, so I figure you need some stair steps in those tower sections! Be sure we see the finished piece. Really nice. Enchanted Quilting
This is great!! Would it work to have a different fill for each side of the cube...so you would have a total of 6 small fills. I "see" straight lines on the black, but I would be inclined to follow angles of the cubes and not have them neccesarily be horizontal and vertical. Have FUN and let us see what you come up with. CindyT
Wow, Annie! Very Impressive quilt design, and the pattern looks challenging in itself! I love it though! I would definitely match the thread colors. Chiming in with the modern filler designs wondering if doing separate designs for each color. Then for the background, I might just follow the stitching lines of the pieces as in a diagonal cross hatch in black. Just my 2 cents worth. Have fun with it!! Looks like a winning challenge quilt!! Please be sure to post finished pics!

Corey
Hi Annie, Striking modernist quilt, shows the technical side of you & I love it. I would audition the suggested designs you like with dry erase pen on lexan. Would like to see the finish if you can share.
anita
Great graphical quilt design. Love your design and congrats on doing something so out of the box. This may be an obvious statement, but whether you choose straight lines or curves, different thread colors or the same, your quilting can really be used to further enhance and differentiate the recessed from the non-recessed areas. Can't wait to see the finished product. Anita
