Anne from Guam
I am about to start quilting on a quilt for my own bed! But the only battings I have are a QD wool and QD cotton 'request'. Is wool batting too warm for year round use? The QD Request batting is a little thin for my liking but I will use it if the wool would be too warm for summer weather. witha'K'quilting
i wish i had wool batting to use for my own bed! it is supposed to be comfortable in both warm and cold climates. and it breathes really well, and has a terrific loft. sewingpup
Hi, I think the wool would be great! I have just quilted one quilt with wool and it was a batik but it has a real nice feel to it and as it is a natural bat, I would think it would breathe nice and feel great....However....I do live in Northern Minnesota...so even our summers can be chilly. Primitive1
Wool definately! It is light and will be good for all seasons! And...it gives great defination to whatever you quilt! I'm a wool girl!!!
oireachtas
I love QD wool and consider it my go to batting for quilts that are for me or my family. And in the day of air conditioning the temp in my house doesn't vary a whole lot throughout the year. I don't really see a noticeable difference in warmth between wool or cotton/cotton blend. But the wool quilts have better definition, are lighter, and drape better.
knlsmith
I use both, but on my queen Storm at Sea that is on our bed, hubby wanted wool. Boy oh Boy! It is perfect. He is always hot and I am always cold, now we are both just right.
cathyh
I love wool for any quilt you will be using as a coverlet. I have only used Hobbs but I should try others. It is so soft and light and drapes so well, as I said, just love it!! Oh and I forgot, so warm, but not too warm,,,,,,,

Busy Quilting
I prefer to use wool. Looked at the quilt that has been on my bed year round since 2008. It is wool/cotton blend and it is lovely and soft.

Sandra Darlington
I love both wool and cotton batts. I would say my favorite of the two is the wool. I have only used Quilters Dream wool and it is wonderful!
