MelissaNH
oh, and I should add you WILL meet people from the forum in your classes - that's how I met MelissaNH - we were eye balling the same machine in Jamie's class :-) BTW, hey Melissa, I am definitely moving back to NH in the fall so hopefully we'll have the chance to meet up again! LOL, yup, I almost stole the machine right out from under you! Awesome that you are moving back to NH! Are you going to go to A Quilter's Gathering in October? It's in Manchester now (LOL, but I call it Nashua North). I'd love to meet up (uh... and this time, there will be no machine stealing hahahahahaha). Barbara Conquest
Having taken both hands-on and lecture-demo classes, I much prefer the latter, for the reasons stated by Jennifer and Chris above. Two more advantages: They're shorter, so you can have exposure to more teachers; they are less expensive than hands-on. DeLoa Jones' classes are excellent for bread-and-butter quilting. I use her books all the time, and she is a great teacher.
chickenscratch
I don't know if i'll be able to do Deloa's class because of the time schedule. I'm having to hitch rides with folks.
