JustSewSimple
Quilted an overall yesterday. About every couple of feet I got a tiny loop on the back of the quilt. I cleaned, changed the needle, changed the bobbin. Any suggestions as to what caused this. I did a search but didn't find it (I'm not very good at the research on this forum!) ffq-lar
Were you using heavy cotton thread? I get occasional back-side loops when I use King Tut. Which is why I seldom use it any more. Dawn offered some solutions a while ago--I think using a larger needle and turning it slightly to one side. You can use a used needle to pull the back-side knot out and coax the loop into the batting. Just run the needle under the backer fabric near the loop and sweep it across to catch the thread. Press down a bit to bury it in the batting if you can. It won't come out again.
JustSewSimple
Hey, sweet girl. I was using Metro on top and magna glide poly on the bottom. Beautiful tension but them about every couple of feet I got this one loop. The loop is not twisted or long. The loops are kinda hard to see but they are there. Bonnie H
Sylvia, I would get the same thing with the Glide cones!
SewCuteQuilting
Are you using thread nets on your cones? I found that if I just let it come off the cone with no net that it would sometimes get a kink in the thread and cause a hiccup in the tension. It wasn't on any particular thread either but I bought 12 of the nets that bobbincentral.com has and cut them to the height of the cone. Just a suggestion that has kept me free from little loopies (And I use Glide in my Millie)
JustSewSimple
Thread net may be the solution. I wasn't using one. Will try that! Thanks my buds!
Busy Quilting
Sound like the thread is getting an extra twist in it occasionally. Maybe not wrap it around the 3 hole guide but thread it over under over instead.
JustSewSimple
I will do all of the above! Where were you guys yesterday when I needed you?
Anne from Guam
Thanks for asking this question. I get those loops too. I thought I might have been going too fast.
