SilverNeedle
Just received a quilt that is flannel top and backing. Putting in Quilter's Dream Orient for batting. My first time working with flannel. Any Do or Don't information would be appreciated. She said its going on her bed where cats and dogs love to sleep so it will be washed frequently. LisaC
If the backing is pieced it will be best to run that seam along your bars, if possible. Flannel stacks up and if the seam runs vertically you will have a "hammock" affect that can sometimes cause some troubles with puckering on the back. If the top has any really dense seams you may want a quilting plan that allows you to miss hitting those seams with your needle; possibly breaking it. Have fun! Primitive1
I have found flannel to be quite linty, maybe it was just the quilts I was working on but I would take the time to blow out the bobbin area every 2 rows or so to keep your machine running well....
