ohioquilter
I am wondering what "footprint" means while I was reading about the different machines. I assume it's the amount of quilting space (width) + length of table.
JaniceC
I think it means the amount of space you need in a room to accommodate the machine itself, and room to move around on each side of the machine. I believe manufacturers recommend a minimum of 2 feet on each side and each end of the machine.
shirleyl
I believe it is the amount of space required or recommended for the machine. Shirley
ffq-lar
In drafting and interior design, it's the actual dimensions of the object placed on the floor. So perhaps it's the dimensions of the actual table, including the space behind and in front for the extension of the head on the rails. Then you'd need to decide how much space you need to move around it. That amount of space is subjective and can be worked around by placing the machine against a wall or on casters to move in and out.
QuiltGuy
If you look at the APQS site they list the footprints in one of the comparative documents. I believe (looking at that document) that Linda is correct as for the Millie it says 5ft by 10, 12, Or 14ft based on the length of your table.
