Busy Quilting
This link was given to be on facebook this morning. Thought some of you might like to see where " quilting machines" started. http://hartcottagequilts.com/his9.htm#machine

lisae
So interesting, Lyn! Thanks for sharing! I knew machines on frames went back a long way but didn't really know all the history.
Kueser
there is a lot of good information at this site. I especially enjoyed reading the how to spot China knock offs and the ebay scams. Saved this site for my so called spare time reading.
JustSewSimple
I loved reading about this and especially enjoyed the pictures. When I was in college we took a "field trip" to a factory where bedding was being stitched. (They did not call it quilting). There were 3-4 machines on each frame. The machine heads did not move. They were locked down tight. The FRAME moved and thus each machine stitched the same pattern. You can imagine that it took a large room since the frame was so very large. I thought it was fascinating! Oh, it was also very noisy.
sammi357
Great site and link! Thank you for sharing it. It's bookmarkable. I also really liked reading about the 'humility blocks.' (SO not a problem for me! lol! I fall into the category that makes quite enough mistakes!)
