pumpkinpatchquilter
I finally finished this quilt...today I had the panic of my life as I finally changed those motor brushes. OH - MY - GAWSH that was just not fun. I don't know why, but anything having to do with the motor scares me crazy. I'd rather time my machine ten times than mess with the motor! Anyhow...after lots of crying, swearing, a few phones calls and a lot of praying...my machine is up and running! Yay! So here's what I finished... tyquilter
Love how you quilted that. Your pictures are going into my "favorites" as I am finishing up doing the embroidery on that same pattern and will need quilting ideas. My quilting won't be nearly as beautiful as yours though. pumpkinpatchquilter
Sallyquilt - Thank you!!! Well, a few months ago I noticed that after I was quilting for a long time my machine would sort of...almost seem as if it was going to short out for a moment...I came here to the board about it first (and also spoke with Amy at APQS) and it was recommended that I try changing the motor brushes first. Amy also suggested that I increase the speed I was quilting at to keep the fan blowing circulating air in there. Finally my machine began racing and stitching uncontrollably fast no matter what speed setting I had it at...so I changed the motor brushes and so far so good! I was able to finish this quilt at least! Cross your fingers for me because I have three more to go! Joyce - Thank you!! Yes it was terrible, awful, scary, the most rotten scary thing I have done to my machine to date. But...for the record...I'm also a big cry baby so take my opinion with a grain of salt! Thank you for your encouraging words and help! Tyra - THANK YOU! ...and your quilt will be BEAUTIFUL! Your quilting is beautiful and I will be referring back to it for inspiration. pumpkinpatchquilter
I wish I could have more likes per day because I'm already out!!! Thank you all so much for your fantastic comments!! You sure do know how to make a girl feel good. Petmomful - thank you! ...this is a customer quilt but she hand embroidered the scenes...it looks like with regular embroidery floss...and she stabilized the back with what feels almost like the fleece backing you'd find on a table cloth...it worked out great though because the added padding gave great texture to the quilting! Debbie - thank you!!! Yes, I'd say I've come a ways since the loopy meander and stars quilt I posted here way back in January!!! LOL Are those snowman scenes hand or machine embroidered on this quilt? Looks beautiful!! You have progressed so much in your quilting since you started posting pics. Keep up the good work!
