DEQuilter9
Hi and Happy New Year! We will be taking an Alaska land and cruise tour soon and I was looking for recommendations on quilt shops that you may have visited or other activities you recommend. Thanks! LindaSteller
You can find quilt shops in all your ports of call by going to Google Maps. Put your port in the search box and the town will pop up, then hit the 'search nearby' and type in quilt shops. Most of the cruise companies organize little tours at each port, so if you visit the various cruise line sites, you can see what they offer and make your selections from those, even if you decide not to participate in the cruise line adventure, you can at least see what is available. DEQuilter9
Thanks Linda I was just really looking for recommendations on stops that were worth a visit so we wouldn't waste time. Appreciate your response - thanks and happy new year!
JustSewSimple
I visited a quilt shop (darling ones) at almost every port of call when we went on our cruise. I got the leaflets they give out for advertising their small towns and there they were! Mike and I headed out to each and every one! My biggest problem was I didn't take enough money for my fabric (although I did get plenty to make a quilt)! It was a great adventure! Oh, I bought some fabric in Canada also! Gamache
I especially enjoyed the shops in Skagway, Juneau and Sitka. They all have wonderful Alaskan themed batiks. Have a wonderful cruise and safe travels. Chris
