New Pantograph Tool ---- Makes doing pantographs or picture images a breeze!

Recommended Posts

Lizbeth - where are you located in Iowa?   I have the Precise Pantograph for my machine.  I'm in West Des Moines - if you're close you could come look at it.  If you're coming the the AQS show let me know and we can get together.   It's very easy to install - actually install is not the word I'd use - more like attaching it to the machine.  I put it on and off as needed, although the arm could stay on all the time.  Great addition to the long arm.

Just an update for those of you that are "on the fence" over the purchase of a PPS. We have kept the introductory pricing since introducing all the upgrades to the system and of course, adding all the different machine mods. Now we have grown so much that our production has had to move to a new level and that means that the price of the PPS will be increasing to $279.95.

If you place your order BEFORE October 28th you can still get the $249.95 price. If you have already placed your order to pick up at Houston Festival you will still get the $249.95 pricing at the show. If you know anyone wanting to get a PPS before the price increase, please share this post with them.

It has been a while since I updated you on all the news.... Well we have redesigned the PPS to fit the Lenni's non-moveable bar. The bar is 3/8" thick and can now go completely under the leveler bar.

And I wanted to share a couple of videos that we took in Houston.... This couple came from Mississippi just to meet me and tell me how they felt about the "Precise" Pantograph System... Now that is really saying something! Needless to say, I felt truly appreciated and was so glad that I could do something forward for others.

I really liked the video.  I'm wondering if there's some type of padding on the metal parts that touch the machine when you attach the Pantograph system so it doesn't scratch the machine head all up.   Thanks!

I have really bonded with my PPS! I can't imagine doing pantos without it now. Here are a couple of things I have figured out that make it work better for me. I can now put it on my Millenium in less than a minute. When you are attaching it, it really helps if you put a book under the extension (where the handles are) to support it while you put in the bolts. Also, since it is hard to reach the nut, I use a 1/2 inch wrench to hold the nut still and use a wrench to turn the bolt when attaching it to the machine. When quilting, I used to think that I should be trying to get my hands to move together, but I have found that my curves are much smoother if I have one hand doing the steering and the other hand doing the pushing. Pushing makes smoother curves than pulling, so as I move through the pattern, I switch back and forth between which hand is steering. Those of you who are accomplished quilters have probably figured that out already! Hope this is helpful.

Carol,

You really explain it well how I move my PPS. It is not just the function of driving the handles, it is the steering and driving! Perfect! Even for myself each time that I do a new pantograph I am amazed myself at the control I get on the first pass... When all this started, last January, I knew that others would be able to benefit from this simple attachment. The "Precise" Pantograph System is truly a revolutionary way to do pantographs.

Thank you for your note on the forum, I can always say how wonderful the PPS is, but it is comments like yours that are truly the proof that it works!

Mercedes, I have both the PPS and the Circle Lord stylus.  You can leave them both on at the same time.  I took my PPS off because it does extend out to the side quite a bit and if you are doing a very large quilt with your CL boards it can and does hit the wall at the end of my table.  Not a major problem, but it's easy enough to put on and take off that I just took it off.

I purchased the precise system last fall. I love it, you are close to your work which makes it easier to see the pantograph. I don't need to see the top, I can tell by the sound of the machine if there is a problem and check it after every row. I just use a old office chair on wheels and it just glides along. I also have very little room in the back of the machine, I just pull it our far enough to I can move around on the chair.

The cost was well worth it.

I have a question about pantographs...........any way you do them..............What do you do if you have an "unfriendly" quilt top that needs to be coaxed here and there without getting a pleat in it?  Do you go through and SID all the blocks first and then do the panto.   I wondered how that works..........also with the computers...........sometimes I need to use my fingers or pins to work an area into submission and I am working from the front of the machine.   I can't see the top of my quilt from the back well enough.
