Feels Like Spring - applique

Recommended Posts

This is another Smith Street machine applique pattern. My goal was to use some different quilting techniques. So I used a circle design in the border and continued it in some of the blocks.  Then I tried to come up with a different design for each block. So Fine thread on top and BL.  More pictures are on flickr.

I agonized for a whole week trying to decide how to quilt that border.  I didn't want to put a traditional design in that block and finally thought of the circle.  Then I emailed Heidi and Vicki to ask if they thought it would look OK on the quilt.  As I started to quilt it, I thought it might be a good idea to put the circles in the quilt too, so I checked with Vicki. And she said, "Definitely!"

Without the tremendous support from this forum, I would be at a loss.  I'm not a Michaelangelo, I'm just one of those people who can copy a master.  And, I'm fine with that, as long as you Da Vincis, and Manets, and Van Goghs etc. continue to provide me with assistance.  Thank you for the wonderful comments and support that you provide daily to everyone.
