dancing bear
I finally got mine finished except for hand-stitching down the binding. I used the Animal Crackers panto design on this. Thanks, Mary, for making the block exchange possible!

JustSewSimple
How big did this turn out? A friend of mine and I did an additional swap between ourselves and ended up with blocks that can be matched, She has been working on hers but I haven't started on mine. This may just get me motivated!!!
dancing bear
This one is 44" x 60" . I did not add an additional border. I did two of each square so it can be an I Spy and/or a Match Game quilt. Thanks for asking!
Brenni
Thanks for posting. It turned out great. I have two sets from the second swap. It did not dawn on me to make a matching quilt. Thanks for the idea. I did make one quilt from the first swap using my standard pattern. After I washed them I was able to get 3.5 inch squares. Did you prewash them? How wide is your sashing? dancing bear
Mary, I found this pattern ... http://obsessivelystitching.blogspot.com/2010/05/disappearing-nine.html And I did not wash my squares prior to sewing them ... too many itty-bitty pieces for me to deal with. Figure that most of the squares were of good quality quilting fabric so no need to pre-wash. The sashings turn out to be 1.5" . Just follow directions at the above site and you'll be fine. QuiltGuy
Looks great! I bookmarked the link too as this sort of stuff is very useful for a beginner like me!!! I guess I will have to get going on mine soon too. I am in Narita Airport heading back home from Tokyo, so as soon as I am over the inevitable jet lag (16 hr time zone difference with the West Coast of the US) I will get in gear.
