This is how I dealt with my pleat in the backing.

Recommended Posts

I couldn't find my original post about how to deal with a pleat on the backing of a quilt on a customer quilt but I said I would post pictures of the fullness and how I dealt with it.  First I finished the quilt.  Then rolled the quilt to the point that I could bring the backing to the top of the roller bars and place a pressing board behind the affected area.  I spray starched it and steamed it with an iron.  It shrunk it up or at least spread the fullness throughout the setting triangle and then I quilted it with a very little pintuck in it which is way better than what it was originally.  Only problem is that I had a yellow stain from the starch, so I ran to my daughter's house who just had a Norwex party and used one of her Envri-cloths on it (just this particular cloth and water) and the whole stain came out.
