Survey Says? Bottom Border Placement

When you have a directional panto (like buildings) in the outside border, do you put the bottom panto in the bottom border facing up in the same direction as the top border? or do you place the panto upside down? or does it matter?

My vote is to have all the house bottoms touching the inside of the border, unless the Quilt is directional.

Depends on if it's to be hung or used on a bed. Usually if it's a wallhanging, the viewer expects to see a directional panto or freehand design placed logically--upright. On a bed quilt, the same applies. So the borders, when they hang over the edge of the bed, should also be upright.  With that said, I finished a signature quilt recently where the owner made it for a bed and placed the sigs in what I thought was an upside down configuration. Nope--she wanted to be able to read the names when she was in bed!

Do what you think is best and whatever looks good.
