Baltimore Album WH

Recommended Posts

The Baltimore Album quilters had a fundraiser to raise money for the museum.  My friend decided to make a wall hanging and then I quilted it for free.  You had to follow certain rules and she chose the Margaret Post patterns for this wall hanging.

Since they posted pictures of the finished quilts, as they were sent, I was able to look at the quilting. Practically all the entrants used crosshatching. Even though that's a typical reproduction quilting design, I found it boring.  So I only crosshatched the outside border in one direction. Then I decided to McTavish and use pebbles inside the applique.  In the middle I did a crosshatch design, but afterwards, I saw where one entrant quilted an applique design there and I really liked that idea.

They held their silent auction and this wall hanging is now in Chicago. I used Superior Threads and Hobbs 80/20.
