Enchanted Quilting
This is a pattern by Jacqueline De Jong and paper pieced by my customer. Not all of the areas fit together nice and flat and there were a few pleats. My customer bought the variegated thread in Paducah...I was relieved when I saw it was So Fine... 40 wt, but would have preferred a lighter weight. In the body of the quilt, I used Nemeshing for the first time in the black areas. No quilting shows whatsover in the black and silver area, so a good spot to try this out. https://flic.kr/p/u5kjw1 Lots of pix on Flickr if you are interested. JBQuilts
Charlotte, I love what you did on this; a beautiful job as usual. I have a sampler to do made with batiks and I wondered if I should use a varigated thread. What color is the so fine? Question: what is Nemeshing, and why in the black? JenniferBernard
So much piecing and such beautiful quilting. I just love those quilts but I do not want to piece or quilt one! I happily admire other people's beauties!
chickenscratch
That is stunning. Did you buy the Nemeshing books? I looked at them, but haven't purchased yet.

Nemishing is a style of quilting by Beth Anne Nemish. She recently released 3 books, 2 of which I bought. They are very clear and easy to understand. I only did it in the black because that was the background...all of the other was paperpieced and quilted to enhance it's shape.
LibbyG
Charlotte, I have so much trouble trying to decide what to quilt and I love your ideas on these quilts. Using the "loopy" over the top part of the spikes, and then coming up from the bottom with the loops was so cute. Love seeing your work.
