Row by Row Experience

Recommended Posts

I just found out about this and thought I would share will ya'll.

Row by Row Experience is like a shop hop but it's not.  Check out this link.

Some of the participating shops are offering a FabricPlate.  I am interested in acquiring as many of the Row by Row FabricPlates (2 each) as I can.  Please check it out and let me know if you are interested in helping me collect them all!!! LOL

If you can get the free patterns that would be awesome also.

Thanks!

There is one quilt shop in our area that is participating. I would love to have patterns from other shops in other areas. Does anybody want to trade? I'm not sure if I can get multiple copies of the pattern or not. What are the  official rules about being present to get a pattern?

Teresa,

The Missouri Star Quilt Co. states on their blog for this event:

"...While the pattern for our row must be picked up in our shop here in Hamilton, Missouri, ..."

Hi!  Local Quilt Shop owner here.  Row by Row patterns are free, but only one pattern per person and you must physically visit the shop.  The organizers are working hard to make sure that participating shops stick to those rules.  However, most shops also have kits of their rows available for purchase, and you can purchase as many kits (which include the free pattern) as you wish, but again only in person.  The Shop Hop runs through September 8.  From then until November 1, no patterns or kits can be sold or handed out, to give hoppers the opportunity to complete their row quilts and turn them in for prizes.

Most shops also have License Plates for sale, and those can be mailed out.  Prices vary from area to area.  Check www.rowbyrowexperience.com for a list and maps of participating shops.  There are shops from all 50 states!  Most states also have Facebook pages where you can see the rows.  We did this last year, and it was lots of fun.

Hope that helps to clarify... have fun collecting.

Tonilynn, I don't plan on doing the Row by Row Experience quilt so I don't see a problem with me collecting the ones in my area and sending them to you.  I believe the rules are that you have to physically visit the shop and you can only have one pattern.  Not a problem.  I would be happy to do that for you.

I stopped by two of my local quilt shops, as I had to get my monthly free fat quarter.  They each have the plates, they are $4.95 each plus 6.5% sales tax.  I could and should probably send you a PM, but I figured as I did not know how you wished to deal with the cost, I would ask it publicly so everyone would know.

I also picked up the two patterns.  While I have no intention of piecing them, or entering the contest, I do not want to step on anyone's toes by posting the patterns here.  So I will ask, are the patterns to be shared privately, or are we going to post them here as we would with pictures of of quilting, for all to see?  Let me know how the group would like to proceed?

Truth be told you are not supposed to share them at all.  The shops are trying to drum up business by having people stop in and spend money.  The plates are far game the patterns are not.  IMHO.

The shop will be getting my business.  I am entitled to the pattern and if I choose not to use it I see no problem giving it away.  I won't be making copies nor will I be obtaining multiple copies.  It is working as it is suppose to.  Yay!

I agree completely with Joyce.  If we don't abide by the rules set out by the people who run the program, it may not be offered again; the rules are fair and clearly stated.  So: plates Yes, patterns No!  (unless we buy the entire kits, which contain the patterns -- no problem trading those, because we've paid for them and they're not limited to one per person).

P.S.  I'm not a shop owner and have no personal stake in this program.

Each of the participating shops have a different fabric plate. The plate at the shop closest to my house reads: BATIKS R US and I am located in Duluth, Georgia. If anyone would like for me to pick one up, I'd be more than happy to do it for the cost. (Including shipping)

I can be reached at the email address below.

I just got home from a trip  from MN to Lancaster, PA for a conference.  I planned the route according to the shops on the roads we would use and narrowed them down to the ones with plates I liked.  I was able to get quite a few.  Some shops are shipping me theirs when the new shipment comes in.
