Quilting Heidi 1,398
I haven't had time to get another quilt on the machine but I have been piecing. I finally finished this top. Now I need to design the applique for it. It is paper pieced and my own design. The log cabin block is 2.2" ...yes you read that right! The center of the quilt is 18". I will put applique in the outside 4 corners and I made sure to leave room for quilting. This was a lot of fun and I love the colors. I dyed most of the fabrics for this one. I think one is a batik that was the right shade I needed. The pieces in the blocks were very small. I think most were 3/4" x 1 - 2". dbams 402
What a lovely quilt! Your design is beautiful, and your piecing is perfect - especially since it is a miniature! Looking forward to seeing the completed project. Quilting Heidi

RitaR 647
It is SO pretty, Heidi.. my hands barely hold fabric, so I doubt I do anything with small pieces., Quilting Heidi

Neher-in-law5 254
That is very well done. It would be fun to be able to do in a larger size. Those small pieces are to be admired.

Cagey 770
The piecing is outstanding. So sharp and crisp. Though to be honest, everything I look the picture my eyes sort of go crazy, and I am ready for that hidden picture to pop out as one of those posters that were all the rage 10 or 15 years ago. Great job. Cagey

Quilting Heidi 1,398
Thanks everybody it is a work in progress. I've decided the green border, 1" currently, is too large and will reduce it to 1/2". I think I'm on the right track for the applique. It is very tricky to figure out the right applique to keep it delicate yet pull in the inside star to the outside. I'll get there.
