Sheila S.
I have a new Lenni and love the machine, but the bobbin winder is not very good. It does not wind the very tight even when I change the setting. Does anyone else have this problem and if you do what do you do to correct the problem? wilmaloo
Hi.. you can always use your home sewing machine to load the bobbin. Hopefully that's working fine and you'll be stitching in no time!! Good Luck!
RunningThreads
Hi Sheila This topic come ups fairly regularly. APQS makes an excellent winder but it is expensive. In order to keep the price of the Lenni reasonable they don't include it. Here is a couple of links to this topic before. You can make your own winder for about $50 or buy a decent one for around a hundred. jimerickson
Sheila: Do yourself a favor and follow Nigel's advice. In the distant past, APQS provided an after market industrial winder with their machines (one came with my used Ult 2) They're fully adjustable, and do a great job. In fact I bought one and set it up to wind Featherweight bobbins. Our sewing group all use Featherweight's or 301's, and having a free standing bobbin winder saves the hassle of winding them on the machine. Wind way faster than the machine as well. We use cones of Superior Master Piece for bobbin and piecing thread. I wind all my own bobbins for both my long arms. I have several winders, and have had no problems with their results. Robin M
Sheila, My Lenni came with the Sidewinder and I hated it. In fact, I had given one away a few months before I bought the Lenni! I bought the APQS Turbowinder. It was expensive, but worth every penny. I never can figure out how many bobbins I'll need, so I wind as I go. It's important not to lose my momentum fussing with the bobbin winder. So, yes, get a real one!
