reloading quilt for border

Recommended Posts

Ladies , when reloading a quilt for a client to do a border design I got a small pucker on the back where the top and sides meet .:(

This is what I did

1 took quilt off

2 trimmed of the extra batting & fabric to 1 inch

3 pinned with a lot of pins I mean a lot for there were 3 borders at 3 inches wide

What should I do next time to avoid getting puckers ?

Thanks :D

Hi Carol

I think you about covered the typical process. The only thing I would do different is trim to 2", I like a bit more pinning surface myself. I dont quite use as many pins as you do, I go for spacing about a hands width apart.

As I recall my first ever lesson with Marcia Stevens years ago, she suggests that you turn the quilt clockwise for some reason I never quite understood. Maybe someone else paid attention as to why. Darlene, do you remember the reason?

Hope this helps, happy quilting!
