Superior Kimono Silk Thread

Recommended Posts

I use it all the time on my George and I absolutely love it.  Above the tension discs, I thread it up through the first hole and down through the third one.  I don't have any thread breaks.  It is the thread that I used on this mini-quilt:

It sews beautifully, I love it! I had no problems; it is 100 wt and very fine so you do have to adjust tension accordingly. I believe i used Superior Threads Super Bob bobbins.

I use a 3.5 or a 4.0, depending on what I'm going through. I did a heavily appliqued quilt where a 3.5 needle would likely break in some of the thick stiff areas.

The machines are timed for a 4.0 needle, so you can use a 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 without re-timing the machine.

Silk thread quilts beautifully.
