Help marking quilt top

I don't know what happened to the rest of my post. Funny. I want to know how to mark the quilt sandwich once it's loaded on the machine. It doesn't seem to have enough support to accurately mark. I use chalk and water-soluble pen. Thanks

Put your ruler base on, and move the head close enough to where you are marking to use the base as a table.

I took an old adjustable stand and put a board on it to increase the drawing surface. It is on wheels so I can just slide it along under the quilt. Sometimes I just get lucky being creative. The stand use to hold a tv for karaoke that we no longer needed. Here is a picture. I know someone also used an ironing board under the quilt to give her a surface to drawn on.

I have the hydraulic lift and have been known to put a portable table under the frame and lowered the lift to the table. The extended base works well, too, for small marking.

I have put my ironing board under the quilt in the frame and raised it up to the height of the quilt.  Worked like a charm!

I do just like Melissa.  The ironing board gives me just the support and at the right height I need.
