Stacallen1
I was wondering do any of you guys do a lot of quilts over 114 in? How much work would you be turning away if 114 was the biggest you could do? What is your average size of quilts you quilt?
RunningThreads
In ten years Brenda could probably count on one hand the quilts she has had that wide. Your 114" number, is that for the top or backing? If it is for the backing you need the top to be a couple of inches smaller. Others will comment but I think you would be fine at the size if that is the widest table you have room for. Brenda's 12' table has 126" leaders that means the maximum top would be about 120". She has only ever turned away one quilt because of size. Nigel
jimerickson
I've probably had 3 or 4 bigger than that. Usually at least one measurement of the quilt will be less, and you can pin it on with the long side rolled up on the rollers. Jim
Zora
I have a 12 foot table. If I had it to do over I would get the 14. My 12 has been adequate for most quilts, but it does not allow me to use an up front attachment such as circle Lord on large quilts. Get the largest frame you have room for..but be sure you DO have the room so you can comfortably get past it on one end at least.
Charlene
I have a 12ft table. I have quilted several quilts up to 120" but it is tight. If a quilt was any larger I would have to turn it away.
