Bonnie in Ok
I was asked to make a quilt from beginning to end and am not charging anything except material costs. Would you put a label on the quilt saying it was made especially for that person, date and my name?
Oma
How well do you know the person? Ask them what they think. Personally, if I was making a quilt for someone and I was paying for everything then I would put a label on it and consider it a gift. If they are paying for materials and not labor it's a little different.
Neher-in-law5
Yes, the quilt deserves to be known as your work. You can easily word it with Made for: by Bonnie, 2016 and anything else you want on it.
Zora
I would put "pieced and quilted by Bonnie. Comissioned by Susie" and the date. That's pretty generic.
Bonnie in Ok
Well she supplied the fabric for the top and binding and will pay for the batting and backing. Know her but not real well. I guess I should ask her.
Neher-in-law5
Be sure to stitch your name and date in the quilting close to an edge if she doesn't want a label shouting it to people. No one needs to know that she financed it unless you both want to tell people.

Cagey
You can also design a logo for yourself. My fox design goes on all my quilts. If you use matching thread, you logo, signature, etc. should be fairly unnoticeable. Though you will have signed your work for future generations. Gator
Absolutely! I think Zora had a great suggestion.
Bonnie in Ok
Great idea about the signature. Will work on one. Thanks again!
meg
I don't do labels. I hide my name in the quilting of almost every quilt I do. It's kinda fun to figure out how to get it in without it being noticeable.
