lindasewsit 111 Report post Posted March 12, 2017 At my house.... That way, I can lay it over the rails and can measure properly and I have every thing I might need in our discussing the quilting . 1 quilterkp reacted to this Quote Linda Gibbons Cabin Creek Quilting APQS Freddie (aka, Gracie ll) Hand guided
Sharon Deming 140 Report post Posted March 12, 2017 Most of my customers come to my house, which is what I prefer. Sometimes guild members just give them to me at guild meeting or a sit & sew. 2 quilterkp and lindasewsit reacted to this Quote Sharon
cegates 194 Report post Posted March 12, 2017 I always meet at my local quilt shop. Having this relationship with the shop has been a key factor in my success thus far. Carol 1 quilterkp reacted to this
AnnP 164 Report post Posted March 12, 2017 At my home, but sometimes if a customer had surgery then Ill pick up at their home. (if that is local of course) My husband said if I pick up a quilt top or deliver it, I should charge a 10 dollar fee. But have not done that yet. lnieland 29 Report post Posted March 12, 2017 Some come to my house, some meet me at the LQS, some give it to me when they see me at a meeting - I can be as flexible as they need me to be! 1 quilterkp reacted to this Quote Louise APQS Millennium www.mypiecefulcorner.blogspot.com
Mary Beth 840 Report post Posted March 12, 2017 When I was in business, they came to my house. I would lay the top out in the floor and measure it, while writing up the quilting plan. We would talk about what they liked and didn't like, etc. I can see where meeting at a local quilt store would help your business. 1 quilterkp reacted to this Quote Mary Beth Powered by 2009 Freedom Future winner of the Millie Sweepstakes http://marysnutshell.blogspot.com/
Lemon Tree Tami 215 Report post Posted March 12, 2017 Depends on the customer ... for the ones in Santa Cruz (which is 45 mins from my house) I pick up and drop off at the monthly quilt guild I attend or an hour earlier at the quilt shop that hosts the meetings. A few of my customers I go to their houses and the rest meet me at my local Starbucks which is less than 5 minutes from my house. My husband is ill so I stopped having people come to the house. Most of the LQS' near me also have longarms so that doesn't work to meet them there. I had an understanding with one LQS that doesn't have a longarm service. But the last time that I met a customer there the owner seemed to have forgotten that he gave me permission to meet there. It was a bit awkward so I decided not to go back. It's nice to be able to sit at a table in the Starbucks anyway. But I also do a lot of the prep work via email so I already know what their quilt looks like, etc. 1 quilterkp reacted to this Quote Cheers, Tami Levin Vancouver, WA http://www.lemontreetales.com http://www.thequiltedlemon.com APQS Freddie with IntelliQuilter
