Mary T
Hello. I machine quilt with an APQS Millenium long arm. I just received a quilt from a customer. She would like some of the quilting to be with wool thread. I have two requests: 1. If you have any experience with quilting with wool thread, please share. 2. Do you have a recommendation for the actual wool thread? I found some aurifil lana wool thread, but I am uncertain if I can use it on my Millie. Thanks for any input you may have!! lisae
Hi Mary, I've not used wool thread on the longarm. Sue Spargo came out with a new line of wool thread called Ellana. It's made by WonderFil. It is much smoother texture than the Aurifil thread. You might want to check it out. I think it would work much better on the longarm. Let us know what you end up with! Sounds interesting!
sewingpup
I would certainly test out any wool thread that you are considering.....I have some lana wool for use in my embroidery machine and have used some to serge an edge with my serger....I think what I had was a bit stretchy and I was to "brush" it in the embroidery to make it "bloom"..like to make a bunny....had to adjust tension in my embroidery machine....it was years ago...so my memory is rusty.....
