Starla
When your take up bar has a huge quilt of 90 inches wound up on it.....How many inches of quilting space do you have left to quilt on? I2, 12.5, 13 inches? Thanks for your help Starla
jimerickson
Starla: With a 90" quilt completely rolled up on the take up roller, the diameter is probably 4.5" or 5". Half of that (the amount the roller intrudes on the sewing field of the machine) is 2.25" - 2.5". Now the roller without any quilt roller on it is probably 2" in diameter, so half of that is 1". Take that away from the 2.5", and you end up with 1.5", and that is how much of the sewing field is reduced. Whatever the unencumbered sewing field is (I think it's 17.5" or 18"), it would be 1.5" less (16" - 16.5") Jim
