tammymurphy
Is there any reason why this couldn't be wired up to the existing wiring/switch in the older Millie's? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/110-120V-LED-F8T5-Tube-Light-T5-12-Overall-11-3-4-4W-Daylight-6000K-for-Home-/272596200379?hash=item3f77ffebbb:g:kVQAAOSw~gRV0PXC
RunningThreads
Hi Tammy and welcome to the forum. I don't see any reason why it couldn't be done. I'm not sure there would be enough of an improvement to warrant the effort. If you can't find the bulb locally let me know my brother has a friend in the lighting business and he might be able to help. The fluorescent bulbs last pretty well, I've changed the bulb twice in eleven years. Nigel
Sue E.
My husband says these will work. We changed out my fixtures and the bulbs, but he says there isn't a problem using these with your existing fixtures.
Mercedes
Does this mean the bulb will just plug right into the existing fixture on my 2005 Millennium?
RunningThreads
The bulb Tammy showed does require some rewiring. Nigel
tammymurphy
Thanks Nigel I doubt I'd find the bulb locally, we've got a guy too lol I'm not really expecting much in the way of more light with the change, more just looking for cleaner light. The subtle flicker of the fluorescent is a little annoying as well, I can live with it, but if I can make it go away easily, cheaply, and without running extra wires along the machine for something that won't work in the existing fixture, then I am all for it! Sue E.
Tammy, go to Home Deport or Loews and see if they have the LED lights that will fit your light fixtures. They are out there and available.
Sheri Butler
I bought the led lights that mount under/above the needle bar and LOVE IT! Just as bright as the new machines! Why wouldnt you go that route instead of having that big ole tube in your vision path?
bonbon
Sheri Which lighting are you referring to? And will it work on 2004 Millie? The light on my machine blinks on and off and has for a long time.
RunningThreads
Sheri Was it Mike's lights you installed. http://www.mcautomationinc.com/led2 ? I had forgotten about his lights but they would be quite a bit more expensive than a direct bulb replacement. Nigel
