Vicky Silkie
I have a Millie with the intelliquilter. The motor just started surging. It goes at a regular speed and then it stalls and slows and then picks back up to regular speed. It does this constantly. I ordered and changed the motor brushes. No difference....not sure what to try next. Help!
RunningThreads
Did you blow the carbon dust out of your motor when you changed the brushes? Did you wait too long before changing the brushes and damage the commutator in the motor? I changed the motor on our Millie after nine years because the commutator was damaged and the motor was very erratic. Nigel
Vicky Silkie
I took and give it another good cleaning and it runs like a charm now. Thank you
RunningThreads
Glad you got it figured out. Make blowing out the carbon dust and checking the brush length a regular maintenance item. I believe the brushes are half inch long when new and replace when they get to three eights. Check about every six months should be sufficient.
