replacing needle, is it in right?

Recommended Posts

Hi all....just wondering how all of you replace your needle,  making sure the needle is in the right position....I have heard use a thin pin or a sliver of business card through the needle hole to make sure it is in the right position....do any of you have other tricks to do this?  Thanks....Lin

I use a flower head pin.  Amy Stuart describes it in the timing video.  There’s a link in this thread I don’t know how to share it :-(

I believe Gammill sells small cylindrical needle-aligning magnets just for this task. You insert the needle and place the end of the magnet on the eye of the needle, projecting out towards you. You can easily see whether the needle eye is facing forward perfectly. And if you like "6:25" or "6:35", it's easy to turn it slightly and check again.              https://www.longarmsupplies.net/needlealignmentmagnet.aspx
