quilting hitting clips

Recommended Posts

Hi, i'm new here and I'm sure this has been mentioned but I can't seem to find the topic. I've just purchased and set up my new (to me) Lenni and loaded my first quilt. As I was basting, I had the edges of the quilt backing held with the clips to keep it more taut, but the machine head was hitting the clips as I was trying to baste down the side, causing all sorts of catching and snags and my quilt to pucker. (note I do have the base extender on my machine as I'm using ruler work for the quilting). Any tips on how to fix this? I'm sure more will come with practice etc but I thought I'd check with the experts :)

thanks!!

The common solution is to use curtain rods.  I used masking tape on my rods so they didn’t scratch or catch on the leaders.  Take a look at this post and you will understand how to fix your problem.
