Charge for making T-shirt quilt

Hi everyone. I am new. Trying to figure what to charge to make her a T-shirt quilt. I also want to give my customer some options to cover the cost. So I was hoping to deduct for her to cut the t-shirts and give her a discount, then if she wants to fuse them, another discount.  So, then I would just have to square them up, and continue the process.  What do you think about that idea? and if so, how much discount should I give her? I do have a long arm and plan to e to e the quilting.  I will do sashing and border and sew on binding by hand. What do you think? I like the $25 per hour cost.

I typically charge $20-25 per shirt, but that includes cutting and fusing. I think that $25 hr is fine if she does the cutting and fusing, as long as you tell her what sizes and what type of fusing you prefer.

Thank you Pamela.  I calculated a discount would be $96.  Also, some information the $25 per shirt (not per hour), does not include materials (backing, batting, fabric for sashing and border). I estimated at $125 appx.  and some did. Also, some did and some not include Long Arm quilting.  Is this also correct?

The $25 hour is for the making of a tee shirt quilt. The cutting, fusing, arranging and sewing together. Fabric for the back and batting are separate. I charge separately for long arming;  2-10 cents per sq inch. Overall, it's an expensive quilt for the client if she really wants me to do it all. Especially if she want me to bind it. Thats expensive by itself.

Thank you Pamela.  I was going to include sewing the binding and since the materials are separate and also the Long Arm quilting, I don't mind doing that by hand; I do that part while watching evening tv. I think I have come to this conclusion and what I am going to charge. I am putting this out there in case anyone else may want to use this. After you see this, you can see that t-shirt quilts are not my favorite; I have shown several of my friends how to make them and they actually enjoyed the process (but never made another, lol).  So, that being said, it has to be worth my time: ( I did contemplate the $25 per block but the hourly didn't calculate to my liking.)I will also include: 2 inch sashing, 4 or 5 inch border. Using psi charge of .825 ,12 blocks $376 (4,560 sq.in) plus .025 e2e quilting $114 for a total of $490. she can deduct $96 if she wants to do the cuts and fusing.  15 shirts calculated out to $595 and 20 shirts $755.  It's all about making it worth my time. So if she says no, it's fine with me. But now I have a template to use for the other requests I have had. (they've seen the ones I have made and love them)  Again, thank you Pamela and if you ever come up to Laughlin/Bullhead AZ, let me know. Would love to meet you
