kbaumbusch 5
We had a bad thread break and now when the needle goes down it hits into the bobbin assembly. Can't get hold of APQS and I had read that you shouldn't retime without their sayso, but I can't believe it's anything else. Advice? Thanks!
RunningThreads 268
Looks like you are going to learn how to time your machine. It will probably take some a little while the first time but once you’ve done it once it gets much easier and quicker. Here is a link to the APQS video. https://youtu.be/xWeqiuvwk5E Nigel
micajah 152
Did you try changing your needle? Perhaps it is bent.
jimerickson 476
It's certainly out of time based on the photo. If the machine is in the down stroke, the needle should be entering the "thumb notch". If it's on the up stroke, it should be coming out of a gap in the bobbin basket guard. From the photo, it's really out of time, which makes me wonder whether the needle is fully inserted in the needle bar. Unless your hook is loose, I'm hard pressed to figure out how the timing became so off with just a thread break.
Janice H 5
I hit the backbar with machine & needle down. Didn't hurt the quilt but couldn't move the needle. We got the book out(that came with the machine) and had no problem timing the machine. The instructions are good. Machine works great now. RunningThreads
