Michael L Smith
I have 1948 221 and when I got it it didn’t have a bobbin housing on it, which I have purchased a replacement and installed it. The problem is that the bobbins I have won’t fit on the bobbin threader on my machine, they fit on my wife’s 1949 winder. Did they make different bobbins for different years. jimerickson
Singer didn't make different bobbins for the Featherweights. If you look closely, you'll see there is a slot cut in the bobbin holder. This slot can be made wider or narrower, by either spreading the shaft. or squeezing it. If bobbins won't go on the shaft you need to squeeze it, if they slip, you need to spread it. Good luck. dbams
