SueD Posted February 20, 2022 Report Share Posted February 20, 2022 I’ve never done it but have seen videos when people quilt parts (1/4 or 1/2) and then stitch together. It’s a quilt as you go method. For borders added after quilting the main body of the quilt, would you then quilt the borders? You might have to consider how much quilting you would add to the borders. Quilting makes the piece draw in (shrink). If you add borders that are the same size as the body and then quilt them a lot, they may cause the quilt to not lay flat.
