kusmaulk
What other simple, basic allover freehand designs do you do besides meander, loopy, or zigzag? thanks, Karol Inverness, FL
gable428
Karol, check out the Meandering Magic books by Suzanne Earley. So many cool meandering designs and they are easy and look great! Gable
Stagecl
I love to do all-over feathers freehand and garden branching (Nicole Webb style). But, feathers are my favorite. Cheryl
victoriasews
I like doing peacock meandering. It has a lot more interest than regular meandering in my opinion, yet is still pretty regular so it looks fine on busy prints. I just used it on an I spy quilt and it didn't detract from all the specialty prints.

BethDurand
Hi All, If you haven't yet, check out Darlene Epp's freehanding books. They are wonderful! Beth
quiltaholi_518
I do many, avoiding pantos because I feel they are not very individual. Here is a pic of my favorite, I call it paisley. It's very much like the Varigated Shell, but the last time around the teardrop shape does a bump bump bump, so it's very feminine and has a wonderful texture when washed........... victoriasews
Peacock meandering is just like Caron's without the bump, bump, bump. I like the bump, bump, bump and will give that a try. The peacock meander is nice really small as a filler or fun as a bigger design. I put mine quite a bit closer together, but that's the fun of freehand, you put the design where you want it and as close as you like.
quilterscafe
Diane Gaudynski calls them "headbands" without the scalloped edges. I love your paisley Caron, it looks great.
moogiequilter
I like to make big daisies and leaves all over the quilt. I sew into the circle for the daisy and then add the leaves and then do leaves as I travel to the next daisy. I'll try to post a picture. Anything you can doodle on paper you can quilt free hand. stepheureka
Thanks Caron and all on this thread. Can always use refreshing ideas. I recently quilted my own quilt for our guilds quilt show which was held last weekend and it took me a while to get going cause i just didn't have an inspiration. I always find that here. Hope to be around more often for the goings on. Peace Stephanie Eureka, CA Millenium
sylkamode
Curls, curls, curls, with variations, lots of my customers ask them. Sometimes I make waves freehand, or leaves. Sylvia Kaptein Sylka-Mode
