Eager to Learn

Hello Everyone;

I just wanted to say hello! I am so happy I found this site. I have been doing some home dec sewing and machine embroidery for a couple of years now and would like to learn to Machine Quilt!

I have not been successful in finding classes in my town. What I have found demands a 45 min drive and when you have a full time job (that demands I stay over on a blink of an eye) it becomes tough.

I will love this site!!! I have been reading a lot and I am eager (and a little bit scared) to start my own quilt. I will start with something small.

I currently own 2 machines: Designer 1 USB and a Brother PC8000D. I hope to be able to learn a lot so that one day I justify the purchase of a long arm machine.

I have seen such beautiful work on this site, I am very inspired!!

Thank you all and hope to post again soon.

Welcome, I'm a newbie too and am getting my machine soon. APQS often does road shows. They are listed on their website. Getting to "play" on a machine is so much fun. I highly recommend attending one or a conference. This is the best site and the best bunch of quilters. So much help and support.

Thank you!

I am on their site and there will be a show in Orlando, Fl during the time I am there in Sept.!! I am going to sign up so that I can see these machines up close and personal!

Oh boy.. my husband is going to love it!! ;)

Where in North Carolina are you? I'm sure there are some dealers on the east coast, and the Nashville AQS show is coming up August 22-26. If you're on the west side of NC it wouldn't be too bad of a drive to go to Nashville. It is a really nice show.

I am about 10 minutes outside of Raleigh.

I will be meeting family in Orlando, FL in September, doing the Disney thing. I couldn't believe my luck, these shows are at the same time.
