PattiQuilts Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 I am having trouble seeing the quilting that I have already put in on some busy fabrics. Then I end up crossing my quilting with quilting already quilting in. I have tried the black light, and side lighting and am still having trouble. Any more ideas or suggestions?
Mary Beth Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 This sounds strange, but turn off the lights in your room and just use your regular light on the machine...see if that works.
lizziesgirl Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 PattiQuilts, I always quilt with only the light of the machine. Otherwise I can't see where I've been. If it is really dark outside then I turn on the light in the adjoining room and that gives me enough with the machine light to work.
dtreusch Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 When I have this problem, I turn off the room and machine lights and use my Ott lamp. I set it at the end of the machine so that the light shines horizontally across the quilt and the shadows from the quilting lines show up. It's very easy then to see where you've been. It works great for me. Debbi
BigPineQuilting Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 Dave Jones has developed a great lighting system. May want to ask him about it. Email is davedeloa@verizon.net . His wife, Deloa Jones uses the system and has only positive things to say about it. Good luck. Carol Hillary
Mary Beth Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 seriously...don't spend money unless you need to or just want to...turn the lights off - that's it.
