Mary Kay Posted November 2 Report Posted November 2 Help Please- I have a 2010 Milly disassembled it to move all put back together. When stitching right to left stitching looks good, left to right it looks flat. Very noticeable when doing piano keys, from the raw edge of the border to border seam looks good, back down to the raw edge look awful. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mary
jimerickson Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 Right to left doesn't tell us much without identifing whether you're sewing from the front or back of the machine. My guess is that your timing is a bit off. Sewing from the front, right to left is poorer tension wise than left to right. Similarly, sewing front to back is poorer than back to front. Worst of all is sewing from front right to left back. All this is just a fact of life. Before you attack timing, make sure everything is in order with your table and carriage. Table is level, wheels tight, cords and cable in proper position, etc. If all those items are right, make sure your hopping foot is properly adjusted, and that your quilt "sandwich" is properly positioned and tensioned appropriately. Make sure your needle plate is in position, and tight, and that your needle is set with the eye facing 90 degrees to the rollers. Check and make sure you have Millie properly threaded. Check both the top and bobbin thread tensions. If everything checks out, move on to the timing. BTW, make sure you have a good needle as well. I think your owners manual has detailed instructions on timing adjustments. Follow them. When you check everything out, I think you'll probably find something out of order. Correct anything you find, and test stitch before you move on. Good luck. Jim dbams 1
