TishMarshall
I need some help. I have had to replace my stitch regulator. Since the change I have a clicking noise with the side to side movement of my machine. I also find that it no longer moves with ease. I can no longer sew semi sideways work, my machine doesn't want to stitch smoothly any more. So, what should I do??? Someone may need to come fix the thing. Thanks in advance. mark
Hi Tish, Do you mean the black box? If so, make sure that you don't have the little rubber wheel squeezed too tight into the bigger wheel. If you get down and look where the wheels go together, you will see a silver collar on top of the rubber wheel, this collar will line up with the lip of the bigger carriage wheel. Again, if it is too tight the lip of the larger carriage wheel will rub on the silver collar where you will see a Allen set screw, that can be the clicking noise you hear as this passes by and will not let the machine move easily side to side. You can loosen the gold bolt under the carriage wheel which will allow the black box to loosen just a bit so the carriage wheel doesn't rub the silver collar. Just check it out and see what you have. Good luck!
TishMarshall
Thank you Mark. I will take a look at it and see if that's the cause of the machines problem. I'll get back to you soon. Tish
TishMarshall
Okay Mark, the clicking noise is from the screws or rivets hitting the top of some metal on the right side of machine. The wheel isnt' too tight as far as I can tell. The wheels on the new unit seem to be warped.....or just my eyes are....lol.. I did some ruler work today and I still had a problem keeping the lines straight....very frustrating. I really need to get this fixed...... this is starting to affect my work.... Now what? Thanks. TishMarshall
I have adjusted and cleaned all the wheels. The clicking sound is from rivits hitting.................<A href="http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2105409340094604031LPNcZg"><IMG alt="back right wheel rivit hitting" src="http://inlinethumb06.webshots.com/16773/2105409340094604031S425x425Q85.jpg"></A><img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/CIMP/Jmx0PTExODk1MzQ1NjA5MjQmcHQ9MTE4OTUzNDU4OTAxNCZwPTEwNjYxJmQ9Jm49.jpg" /> <A href="http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2539339810094604031VIrSwK"><IMG alt="back right wheel on greenie" src="http://inlinethumb30.webshots.com/16925/2539339810094604031S425x425Q85.jpg"></A><img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/CIMP/Jmx0PTExODk1MzQ2NTg0MTQmcHQ9MTE4OTUzNDY2MDIwNyZwPTEwNjYxJmQ9Jm49.jpg" />
RunningThreads
Tish, I just looked at my wifes machine and there is 3 washers between the wheel and channel lock. Hope this helps Nigel
mark
Tish, If the wheel is warped or not turning true like it should, then we probably need a new wheel. We can send you a wheel that has the holes drilled in it for that little gear that is attached. You would just take that apart and remove the wheel. Unscrew those Allen screws that are hitting now as that hold the gear on to the wheel. Put the gear on the new wheel and reassemble. Let us know if you do need that wheel or not. Take care,
TishMarshall
I would like a new wheel. I have adjusted, cleaned and tried to tighten the screw's up.....I wasn't able to hardly move them, they're pretty tight already. I hope this is the cause of the drag that I feel. I spend the day with a level and tape measure checking the entire table. My machine rolls freely from the center to the left but doesn't to the right, and my table is level.....all the way to the end..........any suggestions? Thanks for the help. Amy sat on the phone with me for quite a while the other day. That was helpful, she mentioned quite a few different things, all of which I checked. mark
Sounds good Tish. I would call Amy back and get a new wheel coming so she knows what you are doing. Take care,

Johnmach
Tish -- Top picture, is the arm that that the wheel is mounted on as warped as it looks, or is it the picture? Johnmach

TishMarshall
Mark, I'm still having a challenge with getting a smooth ride with my greenie. I went to PIQF this past weekend and drove the machines there. My machine has NEVER run as smooth as the 2 Cheryl had there. I came home and fiddled with mine, went back to the show and drove those machines once again. still the same. I have done everything I can possibly do...............How do I get someone over here to fix this? Thanks Tish
mark
Tish, I'm not sure how far you are from Cheryl Uribe, but she probably would be the one to see if she could come and check out how your machine moves and see how your adjustments are.
