ninjaquilter
Does anyone have any ideas on how to use metalic threads? I have been playing with some and have had a lot of thread breakage . I have loosened the tension but still have breakage. The thread is from Superior. rcck00
Hi Agnes, Try putting the spool so that it feeds horizontally. Also, make sure you are using a large enough needle. Good luck!
ninjaquilter
Thanks, I\'ll try the needle thing but my spool of thread is a very large cone. I put one of those net things over it because it seemed to just flop all over the place. I only have the #4 needles and was told that it is the largest that should be used with my Millie....is that right? Agnes
Quilting Heidi
Agnes, I don\'t thread my metallic through all of the holes in the pigtail, only 1 and then into a very loose tension. I used BottomLine in the bobbin. I used the vertical thread spool without a problem. Heidi
Bonnie
I also loosen up the tension and then soak the spool with "Sewers Aid"....
rcck00
Sorry, Agnes, I thought you were using one of the smaller spools for some reason! Heidi and Bonnie gave great tips, I\'m saving them for my future reference. Thanks, Ladies!
Melora
) When working with metalic on large rolls I put a piece of batting in the top of the spool holder in-place of the netting (it rides up to that spot anyway) metalic I then put sewers aid both on the thread and on the polyester batting that I placed on the spool holder. Along with the loose tension, large needle and the slowest speed my machine will go. Good luck Melora
