Quilting Heidi
Judy, Are you trying to attach by going up to the reply and then selecting browse, find your file and then say post? I don\'t know why you are only getting the properties of your photo to load.
appr216
Heidi Thanks. I went to edit the message so I could add the pic, then attachment and hit browse. But I cannot get the photo to come up.
Quilting Heidi
Judy, Try this instead. Go to Reply at top, put 2nd try in descrip. go down to bottom and see the button where it says browse, find your photo on your computer and then hit post. That should work. Sometimes it is easier to save your file to your desktop so you can find it easier.

Quilting Heidi
Judi, That must mean your pic is still too big. Try reducing it more.
chickenscratch
That\'s a broken star. I don\'t have a pattern for it, but I recognize it.
Quilting Heidi
Teresa is right it is a broken Star. There are a lot of books with that pattern in it. Maybe do a search on the pattern name and see what you get. If I come across one in my library I\'ll let you know. I can\'t think of one off the top of my head. This is one of my favorite patterns...so stunning!
chickenscratch
Stunning is right, but hard to piece. I\'ve always wanted to make one, but don\'t have the patience.

Susanne.Hughes
Hello Judi, It looks complex, but can be achieved through strip piecing. I have an old book by Donna Lynn Thomas "Shortcuts - A Concise Guide To Totary Cutting." It has the instructions for the Broken Star. Time is too short to cut individual diamonds - quick, easy and effective strip piecing wins out with me everytime!
narink
I don\'t have a pattern for a broken star, but I have a medallion quilt pattern that\'s a single lone star surrounded by smaller stars. There\'s also lots of room for great quilting. It\'s on my website http://www.nancyrinkdesigns.com
narink
Duh. . . forgot to give you the pattern name--it\'s "Desert Stars". Nancy http://www.nancyrinkdesigns.com
bobbi
Judi: Try Marti Michelle\'s perfect patchwork, she has a fabulous system. Also, some of my first quilts were the Lone star and Broken Star. I had a book by Blanche and Helen Young called "The Lone star Quilt Handbook". If you want to borrow it, send me a u2u and I\'ll send it too you... They really are pretty easy once you get the hang of the strip piecing. You do have to be careful with the centers - I remember some "D" cups in my early quilts. Bobbi
