needlemagik
What is the recommendation for needle size for Superior's Poly Quiliter (19 wt. tex 54) and Perfect Quilter thread (19 wt. tex 54)? Can one use a MR4.0? Any tweaking tips would be most appreciated. I don't want Merlin (my Millie) to choke.

Charlene
When using the heavier threads, I usually increase my needle size. Now for me, that would mean, try the 4.0 size first on some scraps. I usually use a 3.5 so 4.0 would be bigger. If the thread is shredding or breaking, try a 4.5. You may have to adjust the tension a little, maybe looser. Are you using the same thread in the bobbin. If so, check the tension in the bobbin case. I don't ususally use the heavier thread in the bobbin. I would use a regular weight thread for the bobbin. Have fun.
