JenS
I am starting a quilt with five borders all the way around. I know I need to baste vertically on the way down the quilt to stabilize the sides as I quilt, but should I also be quilting in the ditch on the borders on the way down? I want to make sure I do this right.
LynnQuilts
If I had that many borders, I think I would go on and SID them, assuming that maybe the material was busy and would hide my starts and stops or that I could make my starts and stops well enough that they wouldn't show . If there are only one or two borders, I would just wait and SID them when I turn the quilt to do the borders. This is just my opinion; I've never done a quilt with that many borders. Jerri
I just finished a quilt with 4 borders and yes I ditched all borders BUT I pinned the sides down...... When I completed the center of the quilt - I stitched the sides down then turned the quilt to finish the side borders.
