What is the deal with shopping frenzy?

Recommended Posts

Okay Tracye, holding each others purse is not a good idea...just ask Phyllis and Donna :P:D

I received a message from Linda (Ramona Quilter) today saying that she has a class until 5 or 5:30 so I can either talk to the LQS and see if they will stay open after 5 for us...or we can go on our little shopping spree and then come back to the center and pick the rest up and go out for dinner. I don\'t know where we will eat yet, but I know it will be yummy!!! Does that help?

Oh, and I am not much of a spender when it comes to fabric...right Nancy ;) So I can hold everyones purses if needed.

Yes, MB is NOT a huge fabric shopper. She kinda looks and might pick up a bolt, but then she puts it back. Very conservative. Now do I get my $1, MB? :P:P:P:P:P Yes, I KNOW your name is Mary Beth, but I gotta quilt goin right now and MB is my short name for you. We love you no matter what your name is so there!!!

Nancy:D:D:D

OK, here\'s how the purse holding works. We DON\'T need fabric, right ?We want to hold out for tools and gadgets ! But, having said all that, you just might find a pattern or two. What you do is take out 10 or 20 dollars, put it in your pocket and CONTROL yourself ! It can be done, hard yes, but doable. I can\'t begin to telly ou of the unique and different patterns I find in another town. It takes forever for the new stuff to get to my corner of the world. For instance, turning 20 was several years old before I saw it at Paducah. So, be brave, set a limit and stick to it !:P I think I can ! I think I can !:P :P Glenda

Oh I know how that "hold my purse" thing works. Or DOESN\'T work :P:P:P

I tried it in Vegas. I told my granny to keep the quarters I was ahead and not to give them to me NO MATTER WHAT I SAID. Of course, a bit later I asked for them and it must have been in a kind of scary way because she gave them all back to me. So in the end I helped out the casino with their light bill.

Also my gal pal (who\'s on this list when she\'s not in dial up hell, and is a Millie owner) that I get to see only at MQS will be flying in while I\'m in class Tues, and I want to track her down and get her to come to dinner with us. I\'m going to try and talk my roomie/rider into coming too if that\'s okay.

I\'ll try and keep Barb and Linda out of trouble until you get back and pick us up!:D Everyong who knows me just spit coffee out their nose on that one.:P I\'m the one that needs to be kept out of trouble most of the time.

Okay I just found out my volunteering schedule and I\'m going to help put up poles and maybe hang quilts Tues starting at 5pm, could we say dinner at around 7-7:30pm? If so where should we all meet up with you shoppers/purse holders?

We are going to meet back in the lobby at one of the round tables....we will go from there once everyone is together. We will plan to be back in the lobby at 6:30ish. We will hang out there until you get there...I\'m sure we can entertain each other until you all show up :)

Okay, so I\'m not lost, ( I\'m notorious for waiting in the wrong place) by the lobby you mean upstairs at the convention center at THOSE round tables outside the main doors to the show floor, or downstairs in the lobby type area outside of the classrooms round tables? OR, at the Sheraton lobby?

Wow, I\'m already in the wrong spot.:P Maybe it\'s good I\'m asking.

Every year!! You should come, there are great classes and you get to meet all these great people from the chat. Last year was way too much fun. Some of us wound up in classes together. One person had the job of nudging me when I dozed off in the not so fun classes. A stranger bought me a cup of coffee to keep me awake in the most boring class I have ever known...she bought herself a cup too, so I was not alone. Most classes are not boring...I just signed up for way too many, and some were very elementry. I found out that I am beyond elementry in some cases :)

The teachers are so great. You think that just because Karen McT or Myrna or Dawn are such great quilters that they will smile and not really talk to you. Wrong, they are like family. They are very friendly and nice, and beautiful and....(you guys can just pay me cash as the show).
