Quilting Heidi
Sandra, That is a nightmare quilt for me...lol it is very modern and I have such a hard time with them. If I got this one I would probably either do an edge to edge design or I would do custom. If I did custom I would do a boarder design i nthe solid red orange area, just echo the design in the printed fabric as I don\'t think much would really show and then do a feather design in the black area. I can\'t wait to see what other suggest for this. I\'ll be saving them for reference!
Sylvia
Hi Sandra I just did one of these a couple of weeks ago. It was done with Oriental fabrics and because the print was busy like yours I did a custom pattern in the big blocks (disappeared into the fabric) and freehand Sue Patten fronds in the strips. Have fun with this one. Sylvia
Cheryll
I vote for Circle Lord Swirls if you have it. You can\'t go wrong with some nice thread like King tut.
Jessica Gamez
Shashiko designs (ask my mom about the "filling in the fillers" class stuff if you havent already taken it)would look really cool in the black areas. In the print I would just do a simple outline of the design.
Jessica Gamez
I was just thinking ginkgo leaves or poppies would look good with a gold thread in those black areas too.
Loes
Hi Sandra, Perhaps you can use the free design from http://www.longarmpatterns.com It\'s a border design that matches the fabric very nicely. You can use the same design to turn it into a block. And then stippling or meandering in the triangles around the blocks Loes
ramona-quilter
I don\'t think that you will se much more than texture inthose busy blocks. I would use a Diana Philips Flower Power motif. Here are a couple. Here books are wonderful and full of do-able ideas.
