mendycs
can you tell me the formula for determining the correct size of setting traingles for blocks set on point? THANKS!
JudyL
For the corner triangles, you will cut them in half. Measure the finished size of your block ? 1.414 + .875 = size of square to be cut in half ONCE diagonally. For setting triangles, you will cut them in half twice (quarters) Measure the finished size of your block x 1.414 + 1.25 = size of square to be cut in half TWICE diagonally. So, say you have a 12" inch block. For the corner triangles, it would be: 12 ? 1.414 + .875 = 9.69. I would cut my square 9.75. For the setting traingles, it would be: 12 x 1.414 + 1.25 = 18.218 so I would cut my square 18.25 and slice it twice to give me four triangles. Guest Linda S
I must have these formulas stashed in a million different folders at home or stuck between the pages of books somewhere, but thank you Judy for putting them here. I just printed them out and stuck them in a page protector in my notebook! Now maybe I'll actually be able to FIND them when I need them!
