  1. I'm looking for help pricing the making and quilting of T- shirt quilts. What do you include in price (size blocks, how many, sashing?, border?, binding?) I will assume it includes batting and backing. Thanks so much!
  2. I went online to purchase M bobbins for my Millie. They are much more reasonably priced than from my dealer. They look the same. Will they fit my machine? I have tried to locate specs for the bobbin and can’t find any in my info. My bobbins are flat on the sides. It’s hard to tell by the pics online for what I want to purchase but they may be slightly curved on the sides. Has anyone purchased from Amazon or anywhere else?
  3. Thanks everyone! I’m very comfortable with edge to edge. Now onto custom quilting.
  4. Thank you for your comments. The more I use the machine the more relaxed I get. This was a pantograph called West Wind from My Creative Stitches. Your comments help build my confidence. I appreciate that.
  5. No it wasn't pre -washed. It wasn't very well constructed with seams not matching and a pieced backing resulting in a lot of fullness next to the seam. But it turned out great! At least I think it did. As it sewed it really drew in the fullness from the topper and backing. Once it is washed it will take up the small amount of fullness left in between some of the rows of stitching. Tell me what you think. Please be honest. It doesn't help me if you're not. I'm a big girl and prefer honesty to just making me feel good. I want to improve this craft and can't do that if people aren't honest with me. Thank you for your help.
  6. I do have contrasting thread, but will lengthen my stitches a bit. Thanks!
  7. This is my first flannel quilt top and flannel backing on my Millie. The backing is seamed. I'm going to have to be careful as it appears that the rest of the backing is looser than usual. What I don't understand is why my stitches seem to disappear into the material. I was testing the tension and I can't even see the stitches. They just sort of sink right into the material. This can't be right. I'm using 50w thread in bobbin and top and I lessened the tension thinking it was too tight. Any suggestions?

  9. Thank you. Since I just couldn't figure it out I called APQS. Turns out it was a dumb beginner error! I had watched tutorials to make sure I was threading the machine right and I turned my thread indicator light back on after having it off. What I failed to realize is the tutorial I watched didn't have IQ on it. My indicator light should be off. I turned it back off and voila! I also learned APQS has a 24/7 # to call. Two lessons learned. I won't forget either!
  10. Why does my thread break indicator keep beeping when there is no thread break? Both tensions, top and bottom, have been adjusted until it is out of whack! I have reviewed videos on proper threading and have even made changes to that thinking it needed more tension. I'm at a loss. Help!
  11. I'm having the same problem. I was told to only wrap it around once. I'll try twice and see what happens. Or maybe if I increase the tension by threading through all the holes it will create more tension on the wheel with the arrow. It's frustrating when you know there is no thread break.
  12. I feel the same way. Hope you’re able to get another before too long!
  13. Well hello all! I purchased an APQS Millie long arm machine. It is set up, I have been through training on the machine and just about through training for the computer. I have gone through everything that came with the machine. My head is now ready to explode!!! But, I'm looking forward to the days ahead when all I have read will make sense when I apply what I have learned. Can't wait to show pics in the coming months.
