This is a wallhanging that my small group applique decided to work on. Everyone picked the fabrics that they like to work with and since I love batiks, mine is all batiks. I used Hobbs 80/20 with Hobbs Wool on top for the batting, and then had a blast quilting it.

Hi all--it has been a crazy few weeks here at the farm. Besides having harvest 1 month early due to the drought. I made it to the final round in the McCall's Quilt Design Star 2012 contest!!! What a rush that was!!
Opposites attract was the theme we were given and could do anything we wanted with it. The final piece needed to be designed, pieced, quilted and bound in 5 weeks. I made it--but not without a few 2:30AM mornings--and add the craziness of harvest and customer quilts in there--I so deserved the little 3 day get-away to Des Moines last week.
Anyway--just thought I might ask for a few votes in the next 2 weeks--voting can take place once a day on any computer or mobile device. The final day for voting is Oct. 21 with results on the 23rd.
Above is a direct link....
Above is link to my blog--that has more details on the final design--and a voting link....
Thanks so much for taking the time to view and vote--I so appreciate--this has been an amazing growing and learning experience this summer--I encourage anyone to try it the next time the contest comes around!!!

All done!!!! Please excuse but I don't know how to post multiple pics in one post. I really had fun. Customer is picking up tomorrow. This is the first custom job on my new Millie and I would like to say that thanks to Dawn...my machine and I have become friends
Quilt Happy reacted to Laura Farnham in Spent a little time on this one!!
Finished this one a while ago, Just had trouble posting pictures to the forum.
Let's see if I can post now,.......
WhooHooo!!!!! Look what I did!!! (Thank you APQS for making this easier!!)
This quilt was a Joy to work on. Meticulously pieced and lots of room to Play.
The best part was, She said, "...do what you want, It's for show and I trust you...."
This was the first time I had quilted for her!!!!
I used Quilters Dream Wool on top with a layer of Dream Blend on the bottom.
Glide Threads on the Top and Magna Classics on the Back!
When I work on a quilt like this, I like to just load and go. This one was a bit differant.
I used Renea's Rays to Mark the Arcs. I loaded the quilt and decided what to do from there.
When it came to stitching out the arcs, My Hands could not hold the Rulers, So I went to my
GO TO Tool. I pulled out the Hartley Fence and Easily made the Arcs. (I really love the Hartley Fence)
I was a bit stumped for what to do in the Outer Turquoise Sashing, So I left it til the end.
I used my Itty Bitty ruler and marked off the Triangle Sections, went back and filled in with Feathers on one side
Then on the other side, did simple CC's in the remaining Sections!!!!
She Loved it!!!
Thanks for Looking

Does anyone know if there is a page where we can see all the "today" posts like we did before. I always use to check what was up by clicking it. Do we have to click on each forum to find out?
Oh dear, I grew up with type writers...I will have to get use to this...
